Press Release: Gourmet Chocolatier Selects DEACOM ERP Software to Support Expansion
WAYNE, PA – April 8, 2014 – Deacom, Inc., producer of a modern
ERP software solution specifically for food manufacturing and other process-based manufacturing industries, announced today that
Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier has selected the DEACOM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to streamline their operations. By establishing repeatable and scalable business procedures, DEACOM will help drive Bissinger’s growth and improve their productivity.
Crafting fine confections made from premium, all-natural ingredients since King Louis XIV granted them the title “Confiseur Imperial” in 17th Century France, Bissinger’s has maintained a strong reputation for creating high-quality, handcrafted chocolates. As a result, they have enjoyed steady growth over the years and anticipate a substantial increase in order volume in 2014. This, along with plans to expand their operations and retail presence motivated Bissinger’s to thoroughly evaluate their operations and proactively improve any inefficiencies.
Their ERP system, no longer supported by the vendor, did not have the full capability required of a growing food manufacturer, and they found themselves relying on manual workarounds to manage a number of processes. In order to take their business to the next level, they would need a more comprehensive solution that is built to handle their industry-specific needs, while also having the flexibility to adapt to their evolving business.
Bissinger’s had an immediate appreciation for Deacom’s guaranteed fixed pricing as well as their single system model designed to eliminate the need for customizations and bolt-ons and deliver enterprise-wide process control.
“DEACOM will provide the single source of truth we need to support the growth and evolution of our business. We will have a new level of confidence in our decisions because they will be based on quantitative facts,” said Bissinger’s COO, Tim Petron. “It is also clear to us that Deacom has a strong commitment to making our implementation successful. Their flexibility and responsiveness was exceptional throughout the evaluation process.”
To more tangibly demonstrate the speed and flexibility of both the single system model and their staff, Deacom took the opportunity to address one of Bissinger’s unique requirements by quickly developing an enhancement to DEACOM and presenting the new capability to the Bissinger’s team just a few days later.
Deacom and Bissinger’s have planned an accelerated implementation, with an anticipated go-live in late summer/early fall.
