Meet Some of the Deacom Artisans

Our philosophy is strengthened by our employees and the talent, motivation, and energy they bring to Deacom every single day.

Prior to establishing Deacom Inc., Jay Deakins was the Founder and CEO of a manufacturer of all-natural cleaning products distributed through national supermarket chains and other retailers. Discouraged by the complexity of software options available at the time to run his business, Deakins took it upon himself to program a solution himself. As a direct result of this experience, Deakins formed Deacom, Inc. in 1995, setting up an office in his basement and creating an ERP system specific to the needs of the manufacturing industry. There he single-handedly developed the earliest versions of DEACOM ERP software from scratch, implemented the technology and supported customers during the day, and wrote code to further advance the software at night. Today, Deakins continues to grow the company with a large professional staff and a new 37,000 square foot, state-of-the-art headquarters in Chesterbrook, PA. He currently resides in Devon, PA and when not working to grow Deacom, spends his spare time playing golf, running, biking, and flying his airplane.

Scott Deakins

Chief Operating Officer

Scott Deakins oversees operational strategies for Deacom and is responsible for strategic planning, growth initiatives and service delivery. Scott is passionate about enterprise software and believes in its ability to take control of business complexity and spark innovation. Prior to joining the Deacom in 2011, Scott worked for Deloitte’s Oracle consulting practice, where he helped blue chip companies accelerate their digital transformations and mitigate their business challenges. Outside of the office, Scott enjoys golf, running and a good book.

Sheridan Bulger

Chief Product Officer

Sheridan serves as the Chief Product Officerat Deacom, overseeing and leading the strategic direction of our implementation services, live customer support, software development, and product design. Having started programming at a young age, Sheridan joined the company in 2010 as a junior-level software developer and quickly rose to the development manager position before taking over operations as a whole. His vast experiences at Deacom makes him well positioned to manage the operations team and continue working to elevate the company’s software and service.

Michael Kicak

Vice President of Finance & Administration

Mike joined Deacom in June of 2020 as our Vice President of Finance and Administration to oversee our financial and administrative functions. Not surprisingly, he manages all these functions with DEACOM, the same ERP system we offer to all our customers. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant and joins Deacom after a career in public accounting as a Manager with Deloitte, and as the Director of Finance and Accounting with a Philadelphia based manufacturer. He brings with him a passion for technology, continuous improvement, and the desire to simplify and streamline business processes that fits in well with Deacom’s Kaizen philosophy and passion to make complexity simple. In his spare time, Mike enjoys golfing and the outdoors, and spending time with his family..

Joerg Wirthmann

Director of Sales, Europe

Joerg Wirthmann joined Deacom in 2019. As a 25-year sales veteran, he has vast experience in enterprise resource plannning with a passion for international expansion projects and market strategies. His entrepreneurial spirit has been critical in assisting with Deacom's European expansion strategy and supporting Deacom's customers that have subsidiaries in Europe. Before joining Deacom, he was co-founder and Executive VP of smartShift, a specialist for transformation software in the ERP market. In his spare time, you can find him on golf courses around the world or skiing in the mountains.

Matt Miller

Director, Customer Success (Americas)

Matt joined Deacom in 2015 as a member of the implementation team. He brought with him a background in supply chain management and experience working with the core vertical markets that Deacom serves. With vast experience in managing customer relationships and driving towards solutions, he was quickly propelled into his current role as Director, Customer Success (Americas). This provides him the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with customers live on Deacom and help them identify new strategies for business growth. It is Matt’s responsibility to ensure that our customers are meeting their strategic goals and continuously growing with the Deacom software. Matt is a graduate of the York College of Pennsylvania’s Graham School of Business, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and played NCAA Lacrosse. When not in the office Matt enjoys traveling the world with his fiancée, cheering for his Pittsburgh sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.

Jason McNeeley

Director, Software Engineering

Jason joined the Deacom team in early 2015 as a senior developer. He quickly rose through the ranks becoming a lead developer on DEACOM, then onto managing our technical operations, and today serves as Director of Software Engineering. He is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day tasks of the development and support teams, and places a heavy emphasis on meeting quality standards along with delivering a product to meet our customers’ needs. Jason is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a degree in Computer Science. Prior to Deacom, Jason worked on applications for the United States Nuclear Fleet and spent some time in healthcare working on CRM and Commission systems. While not helping to code the latest enhancement in DEACOM, he can be found at home learning how to be a brand new Dad.

Melissa Richardson

Director, Talent

Melissa graduated from Saint Joseph's University with a BS in Marketing and began her career in recruiting soon after. She has won multiple awards for her abilities in hiring and was most recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Recruiters in The Greater Philadelphia area. Melissa oversees the hiring department which focuses on the recruitment of our talented Deacom squad globally. After three years with Deacom, Melissa was promoted to Hiring & Office Manager. In her sixth year, she became the Director of Talent. In addition to her hiring responsibilities, she is also responsible for performance management, training, and managing a team of talented recruiters. Melissa has a deep passion for what she does here at Deacom and loves finding other artisans who want to join us in our quest. She has a husband and two daughters at home, has traveled the world, lived in Australia, and dreams of retiring on a tropical island one day.

Matt Bergey

Human Resources Manager

Matt joined Deacom in 2016 after a career in sales/operations in the startup world. He has led teams of all sizes in a management capacity and fell in love with building up employees both personally and professionally. After completing his Master’s degree in Human Resources from Temple University, Matt moved into the HR Manager role from his position on the hiring team. As the HR Manager, Matt is responsible for making sure all of the employees at Deacom are offered the best benefits and work environment possible. In his spare time, Matt is incredibly busy trying to raise 2 little girls with his wife and constantly relives the Eagles Super Bowl win in his head!

Mark Mazich

Program Manager

Mark joined the team in 2013 after spending a few years within the financial services industry. Moving through the ranks at Deacom, he has held positions in Quality Assurance, Support, Implementation, and Project Management. He has attained a high-level understanding of the ERP software and business needs of our customers. This insight allows him to effectively manage a growing team of technical artisans, improve efficiencies for ticket management, and resolve high-priority customer challenges. His current role as a Program Manager at Deacom is focused on executive level communication and high level planning for our customer's implementations. Mark is a graduate of Penn State University holding a BS in Business Management and a minor in Information Systems Management. When you can’t find Mark at the office he is most likely out in the woods enjoying the great outdoors.

Denise Mruskovic

Data Manager

Denise joined Deacom in 2011 with over 20+ years of hardware and ERP software experience. Working her way up the ranks from Technical Support Specialist, Project Manager, Data Conversion Specialist, Lead Data Conversion Specialist and finally Data Manager. She currently heads up our awesome Data Team who supports new and existing customers, along with the Deacom Teams, with their data needs. Denise is a graduate of Ursinus College with a BA in Computer Science and BS in Business Administration. She also has a programming diploma and a Penn State Project Management Certificate. She is married with three wonderful children, who love vacationing in Delaware and Aruba.

Matt Riesenbach

Functional Product Manager

Matt joined Deacom in January 2015 as a member of the QA team testing the software. Early on at Deacom, he moved through the support team as a technical specialist supporting our customers live on our software and from there spent time implementing the software as an ERP Product specialist, taking several projects to go-live. Through each role, Matt gained an expansive amount of knowledge about the software and became a go-to resource internally which led to the Product Design department and role. He is now responsible for architecting the software as well as taking our customers business requirements and turning them into exciting new DEACOM features. Matt graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems. When not in the office, he can be found exploring the city of Philadelphia and learning about new technological advancements.

Mike Petersen

Managed Cloud Manager

Mike joined the Deacom Team in October 2020 as the Manager of the Managed Cloud Services (MCS) Team. The MCS Team is in charge of Deacom's SaaS platform. The MCS Team is tasked with securing, maintaining, optimizing and monitoring customers ERP systems, which allows customers to focus on their businesses. Prior to joining Deacom, Mike worked at ERP and Financial software companies and has nearly fifteen years in the field of IT. This extensive and wide-ranging IT background allows Mike to provide insight to customers on a broad scope of considerations for the well-being of their businesses. Mike is a graduate of Kutztown University and holds a degree in Computer Science. In his spare time, Mike enjoys going on adventures with his wife and son, attending concerts and playing frisbee golf!

Tom Stenstrom

Technical Solutions Manager

Tom joined Deacom at the beginning of 2014 as a Project Manager and helped establish a Project Management Office. He took on managing the PMO while maintaining a full load of projects and transformed the implementation approach to support the explosive growth of Deacom. Since then, Tom has taken over the team that is responsible for technical solutions such as scripting, triggers, and queries, as well as reporting services and internal tools. Tom has over 20 years of software development and technology management experience and brings his passion and entrepreneurial spirit to any assignment he takes on. He has both a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA in Management. Prior to joining Deacom, Tom co-founded technology start-ups Capita Research Group and IDF Connect, was an IPT Leader and Engineering Manager with The Boeing Company, and has been a sole proprietor, consultant, and independent contractor within the IT and Software industry.

Dieter Roskoni

International Marketing Manager

Dieter Roskoni serves as Deacom's International Marketing Manager and is responsible for all strategic and operational marketing activities in the USA and Europe. Prior to this position, he worked for ec4u Expert Consulting AG and CAS AG as a senior Salesforce software architect. Other roles in his career include international marketing responsibilities for Lawson, Ciber, Oracle, and PeopleSoft, as well as more than 20 years of experience in developing, implementing, and selling ERP and CRM solutions at companies such as Hewlett-Packard, ASK Computersystems, J.D. Edwards, and Vantive. Dieter has a degree in engineering and his hobbies include cooking, Argentine tango, and international travel.

Kelly Peters

Public Relations Manager

As Public Relations Manager, Kelly focuses her efforts on building Deacom’s public reputation and position in the market as an innovative, reliable ERP provider. She has spent her entire career developing and implementing PR strategies specifically for technology companies looking to stand out within the very competitive tech market. Kelly has a BA in Communications from La Salle University with a focus in Public Relations and Marketing. While in college, Kelly lived in Rome for four months studying International Marketing. Traveling to a different city or country every weekend, she developed a serious case of the travel bug. Suggestions for her next adventure are welcome!
