Press Release: Specialty Chemical Manufacturer Selects DEACOM ERP Software to Replace Legacy System

WAYNE, PA – January 28, 2014 – Deacom, Inc., producer of an ERP software solution specifically for specialty chemical manufacturing and other process-based manufacturing industries, is pleased to announce that FORREST Technical Coatings, a manufacturer of high performance liquid and powder coatings, has selected the DEACOM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

With an ERP system that was approaching end-of-life, FORREST began the preemptive search for a replacement.  They required a single, comprehensive solution that would support their continued growth and expansion both domestically and internationally.  Based on previous experiences, they had formed a strong sense of what they were looking for in a new system.

FORREST identified a number of traits that were of particular importance, including the system’s ability to provide the following: true seamless integration of their operations, real-time data access and reporting, international compatibility relating to units of measure, currency, and multi-language, high levels of process control and a strong formulation tool, agility with configuration as needed, as well as a high degree of responsiveness from the support and development teams.

The DEACOM single system model, which was created to have all functionality written into the base code of the software without customizations or bolt-ons, aligned well with FORREST’s specifications. They identified DEACOM as the best-fit solution, citing the ability to handle all of their industry-specific requirements, as well as the system’s inherent flexibility designed to enable the growth and evolution of their business, as significant advantages over other systems.

“In addition to helping us save time and money, we want a long-term ERP solution that will scale with us”, said FORREST’s Vice President of Finance Jeanne Savage.  “We selected DEACOM because it was built to do exactly that.”
